Lost in the Shuffle is a clever, quirky puzzle game with tons of content jam-packed into a custom deck of playing cards.

Proverbial Proof in the Metaphorical Pudding

In this case, "the pudding" is the mail, and "the proof" is... well, that's still a proof.  Alright, listen, If there was a less complicated way to explain that the hardcopy proof of the final game is in the mail, I would have said it!

Over the holidays I was able to put the finishing touches on the card designs and prepare all the files for the printer. The digital proofing process all went swimmingly and now the hardcopy proof is on it's way.

Next step on the to-do list is re-creating some of the "genius lessons" that unlock throughout the game with some higher quality video and a punched up script.  There's a new gag at the end that I'm really excited to film :)

Also, please keep an eye out for Kickstarter messages. In the next few days I'm going to slide into the DM's of all the backers receiving personalized rewards in their pledge to ask what name or pseudonym you'd like to use.

That's it. Consider yourself updated!

Five-hundred custom enamel pins!

Enamel pin seen here in stunning relief.

Big shout-out to the First Play: LA playtesting group on Meetup. I took some tweaked puzzles out for a test-drive this past weekend.  Got some great notes and I'm feeling really good about locking in the print run with some finishing touches.

And double shout-out to Matt (pictured below) who is a backer and came out to the playtest event!

I actually didn't get Matt's last name, and there are 5 people named Matt who backed the game, so I'm actually sure which Matt I met.

That's it for this update! By the next one I'll hopefully have pulled the trigger on the whole print run!

p.s. I know it's going to drive you crazy if I don't explain it: That cat wearing rainbow-unicorn sunglasses is my mousepad.

Quick lil update

Hi friends!

Nothing juicy to report just yet. Since our last thrilling update I received the last piece of outsourced art that I was waiting on. It's sufficiently dope as all hell! I also finalized the order for the enamel pins so those are being produced as we speak! I'm hoping that for the next update I'll have them in hand to showcase their splendor.

The next step is preparing all the cards to the printer's specifications, which is pretty simple but mega-tedious. And then I just have to be a big, brave, boy and order the full print run, which is pretty scary but mega-exciting 😁

"Hey, Spencer? Are there any other cool puzzle game you played recently?"

I'm glad you asked! I had the absolute pleasure of playing Search for a Superhero from The Mystery League. It was so cool! Charming as heck, loaded with puzzles, roughly one and a half butt-tons of clever ah-hah's. It's meant to be run as an event for 10-500 people. And the very end of the event is, as the kids say, a real hoot!

"So you're saying if I have the chance to play this game, and I don't do it, I'm a big, stupid, idiot?"

Well... those are your words, not mine. You know what, I should probably wrap up this update before things start to get silly.

How's about an update?

Hi friends!

Now that the Lost in the Shuffle kickstarted campaign is a tremendous success, I've been polishing up some of the card art. The plan is to order the massive print run before the end of the year and I'm currently on track to hit that goal.

I've prepared a little sneak peak at the beta-test design of the jokers vs. the current version. Please don't strain yourself too hard looking for puzzles though as I've tastefully hidden all the good puzzly stuff.

The new versions of the jokers look so freaking cool! I didn't draw them, which is how I'm able to be so impartial :)

I also just had a in-depth chat with one of the game's reviewers, Matthew Stein of Room Escape Artist. It was a lovely chat with a lovely man and he gave me some excellent suggestions on some fine tuning that should be a real "chef's kiss" situation for several puzzles. And if you didn't know it, Matthew is a wonderful puzzle designer and you should click here to see all the sweet stuff he's made!

Well, that's going to wrap up this update. More to come in the next few weeks. Y'all get home safe.

AWWWWWWW YEAAAAAAAAAAAAH!

With the help 487 absolute legends (that's you) the campaign has concluded with 222% funding!

"What happens next?" I'm glad you asked!

Backers of pledge levels with personalized cards should be on the lookout for a questionnaire sent out next week asking for what name(s) to use for the card(s).

The actual survey for finalizing your shipping address and cost won't be coming at you until March or April. Till then I aim to keep everyone apprised of developments with bi-weekly updates containing minimal "yo mama" jokes.

If you have and questions or comments or suggestions please do send them to me directly at spencer@spencerispuzzling.com

In the meantime, my next goal is to get these decks printing ASAP as possible (sorry, ruining acronyms like that makes me LOL out loud)! More on that in the next update!
